Fixing what the deer did

To me. Yeah, after fighting the insurance I'm finally going in to repair my shoulder from the accident.



Thursday Lisa and I went into the hospital to do testing and pre-reg for the surgury next week. Repairing the shoulder I nearly tore off hitting a deer with the Honda last February. Apparently I'm too furry for an EKG. It took several tries to get the sensors to stick. It didn't help that I found it amusing and kept laughing. I told them they could shave me, but they couldn't find a razor. Which just made me laugh more. My daughter Robyn says you'd think a hospital would be better prepared. I can't be the only furry man in the world.



So then Friday we get woken up to a phone call from the Dr. doing the surgury. They want a note from my primary Dr. about my asthma. Lisa runs to get one. While there they call & decide they didn't like my EKG. So Lisa calls and I run to my Dr. and to get an EKG.



I told the cute nurse (who looked like she was only 16. God, I feel old.) about how much trouble they had getting the EKG at the hospital. She said, "No problem. You're not the 1st person I've had to shave." She openned the drawer on the cart and had a whole box of cheap disposable razors. Now why couldn't the hospital do that?



Also she had me remove my phone and all the nuts, bolts and such from my riding pants. Also my iRenew bracelet. It can also mess up an EKG. Huh, how 'bout that?



I was sweaty from the bike ride so the sensors didn't want to stick, but she just said, "Usually these are so easy. But I like a challenge! I WILL get this!" I liked this girl. And she got 2 good reads.



I tell you, she was about 10 yrs younger than the lady at the hospital, but she just seemed so much more experienced and professional.



So I will update after the surgury Wednesday sometime. It might be a day or two.
