Clutch release comp fell out...
So I was changing my clutch cable, and the clutch release comp fell out. Is there a way to get this to lock back in, or do I have to take my entire clutch apart? My bike is a 94 Vulcan 500. Many thanks!

Re: Clutch release comp fell out...
It goes back in easily, I just replaced the plates and springs on my '93 Saturday so I am very familiar with this. The shaft of the comp has a long v-groove machined into it with a notch near the bottom, all you have to do is slide it in so the v groove slides over the end of the clutch rod sticking out of the center of the clutch plate and then rotate it clockwise until the notch engages the knob on the end of the rod. What makes this easy is if you remove your oil fill and use a small light you can actually see all this through the fill port. Hook your new cable back up and you are good to go. There is no lock or snap ring or anything it is mostly held in place by the cable.
Hope this helps get you going again.
