There is a key hole in the rear fender just under the seat on the left side. Put the key in this and turn it. Simultaneously pull up on the front of the seat near the gas tank. Once you have lifted the front you can let go of the key. You then slide the seat forward taking care not to scratch your tank with the metal peg sticking out the bottom front, to remove the seat. Once you have it off you can see how/what hooks back in to put the seat back on. hope this helps.
