Re: no power
First I'd try carb cleaner, or check the air filter. Seafoam works good with about 50 or so miles of riding. Could also be spark plugs. Usually something cheapand easy; not always though.

Re: no power
You most likely have dirty carbs and/or a vacuum leak. When my carbs are gummed up from the bike sitting too long it will start and idle, but practically dies if you try to go and or will peter out and then surge and take off like a bat out of hell. If your pretty sure you don't have a vacuum leak. I'd run a tank of carb cleaner thru it. I have used a full bottle meant for a car size gas tank in my vulcan 500. It may help to run on 1/2 choke.

Re: no power
I've had it take up to 5 tanks of gas until the hesitation was completely gone. So as long as it's improving with each tank you're going in the right direction. I never used carb cleaner after the first tank. I just figured gasoline is a pretty powerful solvent itself.
