Self Cancelling turn signals?

Postby CAFR » Mon May 26, 2014 5:09 pm

Just bought a '94 Vulcan en500A5. Does anyone know if it is supposed to have Self Cancelling turn signals? If so, where is the distance sensor located? I have a shop manual for older EN450 which details the testing procedures but indicates that the sensor is located in the head light housing. No sensor that I could find in either the headlight or Speedo housings. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a '96 EN500A7. I never even thought that motorcycles had those. I'm pretty sure ours don't, these bikes are pretty basic. But then again, I've been riding since January, and I've owned my bike since December. (I bought mine non-running with 12,500 miles and 5 years of neglect). I've put 4,600 miles on mine so far since late January, I just work to remember to shut it off myself. I know the C models have a push button in the center of the switch to turn off the signal, instead of the way ours are. Half the time I overshoot it and turn on the other signal for a split second.

You're probably correct. Just need to form the habit of shutting it off.
