What kind of windshield do you have?

Postby Triangles » Mon Jan 25, 2010 12:42 am

Lets see if we can get a list of windshields that work good on the EN500. Please post Make, Model and a picture of it on your bike. Maybe even include price and a link to where you got it from.

I'm running a National Cycle Street Shield.

Got it some time ago, but I believe it was around $100.

Large V Force I got it on EBay for $120.00? (I don't remember exactly.) I really like the look and the fit, it is a little flimsy.

Small V-Force Kawi windshield. It works OK, but I'm thinking of getting a larger one. It was about $180. I know, I paid too much, but I was a rookie.

i have the "ALLEY CAT" from memphis shades. its awesome. quick disconnect. plus it was only $140 for the shield and mounting hardware from dennis kirk. its the perfect size for me. i cant figure out how to post pics here or i would show you what it looks like on my bike.

I looked up the Alley Cat. I like the looks of it. What is the width? 18 inches high? I find it easiest to set up an account with PhotoBucket, then copy and paste pics to the forums. I can give you details if needed.

yes, please give me the details on posting the pics. the windshield i got was, 18" high, and i think 20" wide. anyways, its perfect. very easy mount. if you order it, tell the dennis kirk people you have a 2010 catalog. the prices are different, $53.99 for the shield, and $80.99 for the mount kit. they printed the wrong prices, but they will honor them since it says that in the catalog.

I've got a Slipstream "Falcon 20") Windshield. It is pretty big but it seems pretty aerodynamic even in strong gusty winds and the way it splays out in front of the grips is nice in the cool weather, it really helps keep a lot of the direct air movement off my hands.

i forgot to add, if you get the memphis shades sportshield like i got, make sure you order the mount kit for sportshields. the dennis kirk part # 27-839. like i said, i got the "ALLEY CAT" sportshield, and i think it is awesome. real good air flow. easy 4 point mount. quick removal. hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I ordered one today. I like the fact that this one is almost an inch taller than the large Kawi shield too.

Installed my new Memphis Shades Alley Cat shield today. Looks great and seems to work better than my smaller Kawi shield. The quality is excellent. 4mm thickness, easy to install instructions, and extra parts. I can see why people rave about Memphis Shades shields. I'll post a pic soon. There are two hardware kits that work with the shield, so let me know if you need the Dennis Kirk part numbers. My kit was backordered for a few days.

Gotta get a new windshield, Debating on going with another tall V Force or something different... Anyone have any experience with a V Force compared to other options?

I just noticed that I never posted a pic of my new windshield (from April of 2010). I've lowered it (last two pics) to where it is just above the headlight and I think it looks a little better. I get lots of compliments on it. It is a Memphis Shades Alley Cat (solar with 7-inch cutout).

Here are some pics. Thanks to Triangles for reminding me...
