this is a list of all the bikes i have had over the years: 1977 kawasaki kz650, 2001 yamaha vstar 650, 1984 honda magna 750, 1981 yamaha xv920 virago, 1974 harley sportster, 1967 honda 305 hawk, 2001 yamaha virago 250, 2004 suzuki katana 750, 2009 yamaha zuma 125, 2009 honda rebel 250, (and now) 2009 kawasaki vulcan 500 ltd.


list all the bikes you guys have owned over the years.

My stable keeps growing. I can't seem to part with them. I have a 2000 Suzuki GZ250, '94 Vulcan 500, and an '06 Vulcan 500. Because one vulcan 500 isn't enuff!

i hear ya. i thought about buying the gz250 awhile back, but my wife wont ride on what she calls "little bikes". thats why she would never ride the honda rebel 250 i had. and i love to have her ride with me, so that had to go. i wish she would ride herself, then i would have an excuse to buy an older vulcan 500 like you got. but she prefers to ride behind me, guess i cant blame her. i do all the work, and she gets to enjoy the ride.

Thanks. All my bikes have names and ZVIZ is the name of this one. Rides like a dream. Found it in classifieds back in 2007 and kept drooling till my wife said: "Go and buy the bloody thing." If you served the Army you know that you should NEVER discuss direct orders. You just go and do it.

But wait till you see the little beast restored. I took ZVIZ completely apart, had the frame sand blasted and powder coated, tank and side panels re-painted, fenders & stuff re-chromed, engine polished and clear powder coated, bought new mufflers etc etc. Should be ready soon to ride in a parade. When the Queen comes to visit our bushes, and similar events...

hey JABLONSKY, quick question. which is faster, the suzuki 400 or a vulcan 500? just curious.

Theoretically suzuki GSX 400 L has a top speed abt 140 km/h (78 mph) and I think I've reached somewhere around 130 km/h (80 mph). Pretty decent for an oldtimer.

Vulcan 500 should have a top speed abt 170 km/h (105 mph) and I really have no idea what was the max I've reached with Magnus. The other day I went for a ride and my wife was following me with her car on a highway. My speedometer showed max 140 km/h (86 mph) while the one in the car showed 155 km/h (96 mph) and there was still some accelerator left.
Not that it matters, but I tend to belive more the car's speedo. It has been proven quite accurate on several occasions. Anyway, the question of top speed is rather irrelevant for me, being a lazy old fart with no racing ambitions whatsoever

Bikes I've owned: Early 1970's Honda Trail 70 (either a 1970,or 71 I think) , 2005 Suzuki GZ250, and 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 500. Now if you want to go with the legal definition of "bike" I also had a Raleigh Chopper MK-1


Here is a shot of it after I "restored" it to as close to original condition as I could, except I changed the color from the original orange to Ford Mustang Metallic Blue.







I received this bike as a birthday present around 1971 and it was still in the attic of a storage shed at my parents house a few years ago, so I decided to get it down and put it back in running order.

Obviously, it is 87 mph and not 78.

Here's a pic of my bicycle. Belonged to one of my daughters until she grew too tall. Then daddy Jablonsky made some modifications and uses it since. Great thing nobody wants to steal this bicycle, it's too ugly



Here is wild Jablonsky in the saddle of a 350 cc Matchless (belonged to my uncle) back in '59:



My former Suzy GSX 1200. Rode her between 2001 and 2007 to Greece, Spain, etc...etc... Great bike, abt 100 HP. I guess at least half of them were having a siesta when I was riding.

My first bike is my current 2006 Vulcan 500 which I bought new in May 2007. I have almost 18,000 miles on it and still love it. Bought the wife a Virago 250 for openers and quickly moved her over to a 2005 V-Star 650. If I get another bike I'm thinking of a Sport Tourer.
