New item for my pre-ride inspection.

While not a total fan of the MSF I have enjoyed the courses I have taken from them and recommend that any new rider take one of their courses.

One of their acronyms is TCLOCKS which they use for the pre-ride inspection.

T - Tires, wheels, brakes
C - controls, handlebars, levers, pedals, cables, throttle
L - Lights and electric, battery, lights, signals
O - Oil and other fluids
C - Chassis, frame suspension, belt (or chain), fasteners
S - Stands, side and center

From now on I will add I - Indicator to the list. I took a ride on a sunny day to warm Rosebud up before dropping the oil for a clutch change and as one will on a sunny two lane road I suddenly felt that perhaps I was exceedingly exceeding the speed limit, I glanced at the speedo and saw that I was doing all of zero MPH! I pulled over and checked and the speedo cable had disconnected from the gear on the front wheel and to add insult to injury the cable had fallen out.

Well I knew what milepost I had started from and what my trip meter read when I started so with a little math I could estimate where to start looking, (anywhere from where I stopped to 21.8 miles earlier) never did find the sucker but I will always reach under and make sure its tight even after I put a little medium Locktite on the new one.

So now is it going to be ITCLOCKS or should I go with SPeedo Indicator for SPITCLOCKS?
