Well ok not exactly a replacement, but this is the closest thing to the EN500C Kawasaki has put out since it was discontinued in 2009! The Vulcan S. It borrows a little more from it's sport bike brethren than the 500 did... What do you think?

Looks pretty nice and the price doesn't seem that bad.

Hmmm....

I like the 'Adjustability' features of the Seat-Footrests-Handlebars.
I like the instrument cluster being up high, instead of down on the tank.
The engine specs are nice.
I don't like the styling. It looks like a mish-mash of a V-Rod/Magna/Buell. And the engine is hidden behind all those frame members and body panels.

I wonder where I could mount the AUX fuel cell?

Interesting. Reminds me of something in between my Vulcan 500 and the wife's Honda CTX700N.

I'll take a white one as soon as they are available. Well maybe a test drive first but I like the modern version and staying with a high tech twin. I liked the Versys but didn't like the standard riding position. This looks to fit the bill and suits me better than the Yami FZ-07 that I liked but again didn't have a cruiser position.

I like it. It would be perfect if it only had hydraulic valve tappets and a belt drive. I wonder what kind of fuel economy it gets.

I saw somewhere on the website 64mpg.

I picked up yet another freaking nail in my rear tire today. I was able to pull the wheel but I tore the MCL in my right knee a few weeks ago and I'm not about to try using my knees to hold everything down while I break down the tire. $25 at the local dealer for repair and balance. Guess who's doing that tomorrow? Too bad the new bike isn't out yet or I'd give it a look see and try to get a test ride while I'm there. Can't remember what the release date is. That was on the site somewhere too.

Agreed, the hydraulic valves would be great, had those on my 750 Vulcan, no adjustments needed, very nice. The "add" says a "sealed chain" what is that? Is it somehow enclosed so it doesn't get road grime or are they just talking about an "x-ring" chain? 64 mpg sounds good. I'm actually very interested in this bike.

From the pictures I've seen the chain is not enclosed at all. I assume like you that they are talking about an O or X ring chain. I'm somewhat torn, I like the mechanics of the Honda NC700X better but I think the bike is ugly. The thought had crossed my mind to fabricate a chain enclosure of some sort but I doubt I'll ever do it. I want my next bike to have a belt drive and hydraulic valves or at the very least a long valve adjustment interval. At the current rate I put miles on it will be decades before I wear out my trusty EN500C.
