Can anyone tell me what the main gallery plug does? I'm not sure but it looks as if after a few miles of riding that will leak a couple of spots of oil on my driveway.

The main (oil) gallery is a passage drilled through the crankcase to distribute oil through the engine, since it is a drilled passage you need a plug to keep the oil inside the engine at the end it was drilled from. Looking at the parts list online it looks like the plug is P/N 92066-1205 but it also looks like all you need to do is replace the o-ring under it, P/N 670B2021.

Hope this helps...

I did buy both the O ring and the main gallery plug and it says to use high temp grease on the O ring and torque at 13 Ft. pounds, when I put this in does the hole in the plug need to be aiming in a certain direction or do I just screw in and use proper torque? Thanks for your first reply this helps me understand.

Just install it to the proper torque, the hole in the plug only has to be at the proper depth in the gallery, it does not have to be "clocked" in any fashion.

Get the new plug and o-ring installed and let us know how it works out after a few days of riding.
