Iron Butt Association, Saddle Sore 2000.

Postby Triangles » Fri Jul 30, 2010 7:07 am

I think I may have lost a grip on my sanity. I'm in the planning stages of a Saddle Sore 2000. Columbus, OH to Las Vegas, NV in less than 48 hours. Even more so I'm planning to do it in November. Somebody want to talk some sense into me or join in on the insanity?

Sounds like an excellent idea to me. Wish I could join you, but there's no way I'd have the week available to do it in (figuring in a ride to/from here to Toledo, 2 days out, and however many days back). Definitely love the concept. Hoping to do a 1000 or 1500 sometime in the next few months, but probably on the Silverwing for comfort rather than the Vulcan.

My goal is to arrive in Las Vegas Friday Nov 5th in the evening or afternoon. Spend the rest of the day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Las Vegas. Then we'd take a more leisurely ride back to Ohio Monday morning. 2,019 miles one way according to Google.
Tentatively I'm meeting a friend in Columbus on Wed. Nov 3rd Getting plenty of sleep and leaving first thing Thursday morning, but that doesn't give us enuff time to get there. Hmmm will have to rethink that strategy.

Come on fastpakr! Columbus is only a tad over 6 hrs away for you :)

I am the other crazy one that is going with Triangles. I jsut bought my manual cruise control and hard saddle bags for Vulcan 900 custom. I think we are completely nuts, the ride out there wont be so bad if we take the southern route. The ride back is what i think is going to kill us lol.
