Welcome to the site neilybob! It's great to see someone else who does even more with their Vulcan than just carry passengers! I never even considered using it to carry firewood before you posted your pictures!

Pretty blue on your 500. First time I've seen firewood in saddlebags...

Thanks GeorgiaRider - I was a little unsure of the colour at first but its growing on me!
Thankfully I didn't have to travel too far with the firewood, just across the campsite!

Mine is the same year but is new to me. As you can see I purchased it in the fall & haven't had a chance to get it on the road yet. I still have my GZ 250, so plan to move "up" slowly. We burn wood for heat here, so it's tractor & loader for us in that department@@

dang, wish mine was that color blue. very nice color. but of course, the 2009 model only came in red. maybe i will just have to paint mine. nah, maybe in about ten years.
Re: 2005 Vulcan -
thats a nice bike! its got a lot of power for a 500. and i have to assume that the later models are even more powerful. my bike looks just like that only mine has a sissy bar and a passenger back rest.

Ironically, they lost about 10 horsepower after 1995. :3 Larger carbs and ninja pistons before that.

Don't forget the less aggressive cams too. I'm not 100% sure but I thought the EN500A had the same cams as the ninja too. I know the EN500C definitely has different cams from the ninja.
