Re: Bike work start. Carb related I think.
I would advise against going with pod filters unless you are experienced in carb tuning. I have done this on a '94 and it took the better part of 1/2 a summer to get the carb tuned just right. requiring countless removals and installs. I still couldn't get the fuel economy as good as I thought it sh...

Re: Flat tracker question (19" rear wheel)
Sounds like you need a fabricator friend to modify a rear swing arm. What rear wheel were you looking to put on it? Also FYI the EN500A has about 10 more horsepower as does the Ninja 500 which shares the same engine if you are serious about racing it. Ninja 500 and Vulcan 500 LTD engines are similar...

Re: Returning to motorcycling after about 4 years
If It's a 2009 with low miles I'd assume it has the original tires. Tires that old are unsafe. My first move would be to put new rubber on the wheels. When it sits for long periods of time the carbs get gunked up pretty bad. If it's not too bad half a bottle of carb cleaner in one tank of gas and th...

Re: 2021 Ironbutt Rally
I have some gloves that have a special finger tip material that works but to be honest, it's like trying to write fine print with a marker than has a 2" felt tip.

Re: Thanks fgor pring this site back to life!!!
Sorry it took so long. If I actually knew what I was doing it would have been back up much quicker. Well that and had I not tried to update the forum software at the same time.... I'm glad it's back. As a bonus I was able to get the old forum up too. I liked the look of that forum but I just don't h...

Re: Status and Updates
Had a database error late in 2019 then I failed epically trying to update to the latest forum version. I could not get the process of updating the database to the new board version to complete correctly. I am giving up trying to update to the new version as it doesn't seem to want to work no matter ...

Re: Leaks and Other Issues
All of these are fixable by the end user. You will need tools and buying a jack is pretty much a prerequisite if you want to do anything that requires you to remove a wheel. These easy cheap DIY jack stands may be helpful. http://www.gz250bike.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61 Using these with a regular...

Re: 93 en500-a need help
You could buy a Haynes manual or OE manual. There are PDFs I've seen on the internet if piracy is your thing. I think I may have the OE manual that has the wiring diagrams somewhere. Can you share a picture of what your problem is?

Re: Mircosquirt Fuel Injection Project log.
I haven't made any progress but I do still plan to tackle this. It's been a couple years since I' posted so about this so forgive me if I'm reposting. I found a supplier for new flywheels for EN500As and for new sensors. I'll have to use a EN500A cover so there's a place to mount the sensors. The ea...

Re: Low Compression
I'm disappointed only 204k miles!!! /s I'd say you got your money's worth out of the engine. LOL. It would be interesting to do a tear down on the old engine to see what condition the internals are in, like the timing chain, valves, cylinder walls, etc. I'm guessing that the valve adjustment didn't ...
