Re: 2009 Vulcan with Mods
I'm actually planning to try and make it even better sometime this year, already got the foam from Sargents and some fiberglass to make my own seat pan with, just haven't had the time to do it yet. Gonna try to make it a little wider and more support forward under my thighs this time, but I don't w...

Re: Replacement Tires for the 500
I've only bought from tiresunlimited.com checked and they're more expensive, about $105 and $75 for the OE Bridgestones. Those seem like very reasonable prices though.

Re: Scootworks Belt Drive Conversion
Hmm, upon second look it may be as simple as getting the pulley and spacer for the 500A and putting it on the 500C. I may investigate this in a few weeks when I have time.

Re: Scootworks Belt Drive Conversion
you'd have to get the coupling for from an EN500A too. (the thing that the pulley bolts to, between the pulley and rear wheel.) The major problem with this is the front pulley. The drive shaft ends are different. You'd have to engineer some way to get the front pulley on the newer drive shaft. I sup...

Re: Scootworks Belt Drive Conversion
when I get my money back from uncle sam I"m getting the scootworks belt kit. I would have done it sooner, but I needed the money to help somone from getting their car repossed. It changes the final drive from 2.65 to 2.1 or something like that. I did the calculations last year and 5th gear with...

I added the post image link to these forms. Just look below the box you type into for the link "Add image to post" I'll make the text larger so it's more noticeable.

Parts interchange. What other bikes parts fit the EN500?
I thought it would be interesting to compile a list of what parts from other bikes are bolt on swaps for the vulcan 500. So what parts do you know of from other bikes that will fit the vulcan 500? See this post in the "How-To" section. Kawasaki offers an online parts diagrams that will als...

Re: What to look for in a tachometer for the vulcan 500
I've read where the 500 redlines at 9-10K rpm. Do you find that your tach pegs at 8K or does it keep climbing and you can estimate? Thanks. I realized I never answered this question. It's been snow and ice here so I haven't ridden for a little over a month. I don't really remember. There is no peg....

I figured as much. I'll have to look someplace closer to home. Thanks for the offer though.

Re: Front Brakes "squeeking"
I don't know why but it seems all "stock" brakes are very squeaky! on my first bike (suzuki GZ250) I replaced the pads with ceramic pads, specifically those made by SBS (Scandinavian Brake Systems). They are reasonably priced, work very well and have never squeaked for me. Unfortunately th...

Aluminum wheel swap. EN500A to EN500C
This is a how-to in progress for swapping the aluminum wheels from an EN500A (early vulcan 500 '90-'96) to the current EN500C (LTD '96+).

Re: 94 EN500A Saddle bag supports.
ok, makes sense now I missed the part where you sed you made yours based off these picts. It's hard for me to visualize right now as my bike is mostly stripped to get some frame paint touch up done. Waiting a few weeks for warmer weather so I can paint. I may try that if my fab shop connections don'...
