Re: Replace those old tires!!!
Are you coming to the Lake Hope gathering next weekend? If so, I can park it on the bike somewhere and hand it off to you then.

Re: Replace those old tires!!!
I do, but unfortunately it's still in use. Wish I could help (really - I'd love to sell it) but my dad's been using it constantly for a while now. He's down a vehicle, otherwise I'd ask for it back.
On topic - I know Bill is running a car tire. Not sure who else might be.

Re: SEAT
The ATV seat cushions you can buy at WalMart, etc do a great job of adding to the comfort of the seat (and blocking it from sun exposure).

Re: Who has replaced stock headlight with brighter one?
The silver star is a good light bulb. Are you sure you just don't need to aim your light properly? Mine is stock or at least I think it is and it's plenty bright. I have a friend with a 94 Vulcan 750 The previous owner had put a brighter light in his. I'll see if he knows what it is. I had pondered...

Re: Right side exhaust header
Another option might be to grab an exhaust system off a Ninja 500 and let a shop do the work necessary to route it around any interference issues.

My first guess is that you're probably fine, but you ought to be able to drain off a small amount of fluid quite easily at home if you want to be safe. Just loosen the drain bolt enough to let it slowly seep out and periodically check the level, or you can siphon it out through the fill plug.

Should be half full when vertical with the engine off. Glad you like it!
When you change the oil, you can grab a filter at Wal Mart. The SuperTech 7317 is cheap and one of the better filters available.

Whiteram, I'm not sure what to say here. On the other forum you've been provided the info multiple times to contact Vicente (aka 500 Rider) about the highway bars, and yet you keep asking for it again or for someone else to email you directly with info. What exactly is it that you're not getting whe...

How's the comfort on that tank, i.e. does the width cause any uncomfortable splaying out of your knees?

Re: What might cause a 10 mpg drop in my fuel mileage
The next time you do an oil change, send off a sample to a lab. They can give you all the data on it, including fuel contamination. Could be very useful in determining if you have a fuel system issue.

Re: What will replace the Vulcan 500 LTD?
The 400 is, as you said, just a sleeved 650 engine. It's a reduced effect version like a lot of similar models of other motorcycles in Canada and Europe. They exist to meet the tiered licensing structure found in other countries. Not much point in putting the 400 version in the Vulcan when you could...
