Re: Convert From Tube-type to Tube-less Tires

Thanks for the info. I've decided to just leave it as it is and bring along a tire repair kit instead of plugs on the long road trips. I can fill the tube with some type of slime (not the "Slime" brand), and use C02 to get it back for tube replacement. For now, however, I've had a new tube...

Convert From Tube-type to Tube-less Tires

Okay, I admit it. I'm a flippin' MC addict! Okay. Now what? Anyway, I picked up piece of glass in my rear tire. It's a tube-type tire and it will be 9 whole days before I can get it fixed since I don't have a jack or time to fix it myself. This totally sucks. It's riding season, and I'm driving the ...

Re: hey from Ontario, Canada

Totally cool! You and your husband enjoy the sport! I'm almost 50 and just took it up myself. I had four prior MCs, and none of them lasted more than 3 months in my garage and they were gone. When I bought the little Vulcan 500, the motorcycle bug bit! It's a blast. Wouldn't it be a bit cold to ride...

Re: Gas mileage!

My understanding of gas mileage is that liquid gasoline does not burn. Only the vapors burn. As temperatures get lower, the vaporization rate drops, and so fuel mileage drops with it. Some people put gasoline warmers on their machines so that the effect isn't as noticable in cold temps. The icy air ...

Re: Performance Spark Plugs

Since you are getting the mileage that you are, being 50 pounds heavier than me, I will take a stab that at least part of the phenominal mileage is our weight difference. I'm rechecking it again, but this time there is more 70mph speeds included with all of the tanks, and it looks like it is droppin...

Re: Performance Spark Plugs

Hello, Yes, I hear you. I've tried three other so-called "performance plugs" and they were nothing but snake oil exactly as you said. The Brisk brand seemed to make sense for high RPM engines. Anyway, I didn't believe the first tank full, so I just continued it with a second. Same result. ...

Performance Spark Plugs

Hello All, I'm quite new to motorcycling. Though I've had several MCs in the past, they were short lived: Crashed 30 years ago after having the bike for two months. It was okay riding at the time. Then bought scooter and it was boring, so it only lasted a couple months, then sold it. Then bought big...
