Hey Triangles!
Thank you so much for taking the time to look into this! This is great to hear, as I like the 500A a bit more. And the photos are especially helpful. Hopefully it will benefit others as much it does me.
Best, charnotx

Re: Front Fender 1999 Vulcan 500
That's what I was figuring is that it was a different bolt spacing and riding height of the underside. I wasn't sure if the forks were different or not, since the ones I just bought and rebuilt were from another 500C. I'm actually not in a huge hurry, as it wont prevent me from being able to ride, I...

Re: Front Fender 1999 Vulcan 500
I get that all the EN500As are the same within EN500A, and that all the EN500Cs are the same within EN500C. What I'm trying to determine is if they interchange between each other. They are two distinctly different fenders. The EN500A is more rounded and looks shorter, while the EN500C is longer and ...

Re: Front Fender 1999 Vulcan 500
Hey Triangles, I meant EN500A from like 1990-1995 I believe, the one with the more rounded, less elongated, fender. I know that all the LTDs are the same as I have both a 99 and 09 model. As for the parts interchange, I have been trying to get that to work, both with your instructions and just navig...

Re: Backfires and 29 MPG.....
I think you are on the right path. A few questions: 1) What spark plugs are you running? D8EA vs D9EA? - depending on your location and climate, and fuel type, one will likely be better than the other 2) What octane fuel do you use? Does it have ethanol? If so, how much? - this can also affect the h...

Re: Rebuilding forks - fork seals EN500A
Just a friendly reminder, but make sure you know which way those seals are suppose to go on the forks! I accidently put mine on upside down. I didn't even realize until I couldn't get it below the line for the retaining clip. Ended up having to take the uppers and lowers completely apart again to do...

Front Fender 1999 Vulcan 500
Hi all, been getting closer to having Hephaestus back on the road, and one thing that I still am looking for is a front fender that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Does anyone know if there are any interchangeable fenders for this model? Perhaps the EN500-C1 (early years), or a different model Vulcan...

Re: IronButt Rally Finish
Wow, sounds like y'all had a great time! Too bad you had to deal with another tire issue. Hopefully next time, the third trip will be the charm!
I imagine it was quite the site seeing everyone come in from the ride. One day I want to check it out myself.

Re: Convert From Tube-type to Tube-less Tires
Someone else might jump in and correct me, but I'm fairly certain there is no issue making the switch. But if you have spoke rims you still have to install a tube into the tubeless tire, just like you would a tube tire.

New Vulcan 500...
So as y'all may know from a different post, I was in a wreck about two months ago, where my 1999 Vulcan 500 had it's front end twisted. Since then I've been working on rebuilding (and modifying it) so that it is in good, working condition. Everything has been taken apart, received all the replacemen...

Re: Next Project 1980 Honda CX500 Custom
Sounds about like my 1980 Suzuki GS550E (Lola) project (from before I got my Vulcan 500 Hephaestus). When I bought it off a work friend, it turned over, but didn't run. He had been working on it, but had some BMW projects that kept calling his attention. Well it got running, and I loved it for a dai...

Front rim for 1999 Vulcan 500
Turns out the front rim was bent in my wreck. Looking for a replacement spoke rim that will fit.
