Re: I bought another EN500 to play with....

I think I will start playing around with a shorter rear fender to see if that works better than the stock one.

Re: I bought another EN500 to play with....

ebay - it was ~ $60. I may at a later date get one with a deeper contour to better fit the shape of the frame, but I'm pleased with the quality at the price. found it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Motorcycle-Solo-Seat-Custom-Bobber-Harley-Black-KH-XL-XLH-XLCH-Sportster-/310803883349?pt=Motorcycles_Pa...

I bought another EN500 to play with....

Last summer I picked up a '99 EN500. http://catseyeweb.com/vulcan/vulcan3sm.jpg I was so impressed with it I jumped when another opportunity showed up: http://catseyeweb.com/vulcan/blue500.jpg It was in need of love due to spending time out in the elements, had a nice dent in the tank, so I took the...

very nice. I bet a lot of people would be very surprised at how nicely a 500 can ride when outfitted like that.

VA/NC Blue Ridge Parkway

Spent a couple of days on the BRP in VA near the NC border. It's not as mountainous there, the elevations aren't quite as high as further South, so the parkway itself is more gentle sweeping curves. Nice and relaxing, if that's what you like, with lots of rolling hills and meadows, nice views and sp...

Re: Flat black 1996 Vulcan

I am getting ready to modify my seat as well. Definitely the low point of the bike's appearance. Saw this recently: http://catseyeweb.com/vulcan/solo_seatsm.jpg I think this one is the best looking seats I've ever seen on this bike. It's made from cutting the stock pan, which I am TOTALLY capable of...

My New To Me '99

Came a cross this 500 in non-running condition that came to life after less than 1 hour of fiddling with some wiring. After another 4 ours of two of us with various compounds, polishes and waxes, powered by various hand and power tools, we came up with this: https://scontent-a-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...

Re: New to me from Raleigh, NC

Thanks for that info. I have had quite a few bikes over the years, many of them Kaws because they just seemed to "fit" better, I can't even explain the feel. Here they are: KZ1100 w/sidecar https://scontent-a-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/580502_10201300425054595_2119208414_n.jpg 750 Twin ...

Is that a recent picture? If so, that is either an outstanding restoration or an unusually preserved survivor. WOW!

Re: New to me from Raleigh, NC

The one without the speedo on the tank is called the "Vulcan 500" What you have there is a "Vulcan 500 LTD" The model numbers are EN500A and EN500C respectively. Ah, that's what threw me. I have owned 4 KZ's in the past, and it was the LTD's that had the alloy wheels, etc. I was...

New to me from Raleigh, NC

This thing just jumped into my truck like a stray dog: http://www.catseyeweb.com/vulcan/w_vulcans.jpg Bought as low mileage non-runner. Was running within 5 minutes. Now just need to go through the usual items that suffer from neglect: https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/1270912_1...
