Re: Dirt cheap air filter cleaning

The biggest complaint I see from people trying to remove the filter is that they have trouble pulling the starter solenoid out of the way. A quick squirt of WD-40 or even window cleaner on the bracket allows the rubber mount to slide off easily. Just don't be careless when moving the solenoid out o...

Re: Dirt cheap air filter cleaning

There is a combination electrical relay mounted that blocks the element from easy access. This block contains the relay for the starter and a main fuse to the electrical/charging circuit, and more. Two guarded lugs from the battery and to the starter must to come off of the relay portion and a coupl...

Re: Why does trailering kill my battery

Afirmitive, only after it has ben trailered. 3 times in a row now, several months apart. If it were a more common wet plate style battery I could imagine a vibration problem where the plates were heavily sulfated. As I understand it, the AGM type are not nearly as suseptable to vibration related fai...

Re: Dirt cheap air filter cleaning

Has anyone come up with a work-around for accessing the air filter, it needs to be easier to remove. My '07 is quite complicated to get to. And, I see some stuff at undue risk to premature wear because they need disassembly at every access to the air filter.

Why does trailering kill my battery

We own an '07EN500C. I gives us very good service except the couple times that I have transported the bike behind the M/H, it acts as though the battery has been discharged when we attempt to start. With only the chatter of the solenoid for a result when starting is attempted we are left confounded....

New H4 white light, too much for charging sys?

I purchased and installed a new H4 white light bulb in my wife's '07 EN500. Now have a depleted battery. the ad claimed that it drew the same wattage. Could it be the cause for my depleted battery condition. Maybe some thing to do with the delay relay for the head lamp circuit,

New on board from NE Texas

I own a '07EN500c LTD. My wife rides it every day. I am the wrench for the bike. I added hard saddle bags and a tour pack to it as a gift at Christmas in Dec '11. We bought it second hand with 11k miles. It is in good running order and safe, all and all a good score. I've added new rubber and front ...
