Re: Bogging and spluttering when throttle opened more than 50%

Another random thought is that you might have rust or trash in the gas tank. There is a screen over the petcock inlet that could be plugged up starving the engine of gasoline.....

Re: Bogging and spluttering when throttle opened more than 50%

Just so I understand. You have the stock air intake on the bike, right? I had a '94 where the PO had replaced the stock intake with pod filters. I think I got the bike because he couldn't get it to run right. I got it acceptable but not as good as I would have liked after a year of tuning. That was ...

Re: How many miles do you put on your 500?

Crazy as I can't imagine putting that many miles on a vehicle. I only travel by all my vehicles maybe 5-8k per year. most of that is commuting to work. Between my wife and I we also have 7 vehicles  With gas getting so high, I find it hard to want to ride as it now costs about twice as much per...

Re: Flywheel/Magneto Rotor

I sold my '94 EN500A to my brother in law and I had warned him about replacing the flywheel years ago. Of course now many years later it would be while I was riding it that the magnet would let go. We got lucky and nothing poked out the cover. however the stator was beat up and while it still techni...

Re: Status and Updates

02/20/2022 I think we are back up and running. We got hacked/hijacked. I have no idea how but it has been a struggle to get back to where we were. Hopefully I have cleansed all the malware from here. I'm not sure when things went south but it was at least 2 weeks ago. Please let me know if you find ...

Re: Hopefully the photo shows up

To my knowledge there's no risk of damage just leaving that hose open to the air. The worst that happens is something gets sucked in and plugs it up. On second thought, something could theoretically get stuck in the reed valves causing exhaust to come out through the system which is not something yo...

Re: Hopefully the photo shows up

My Wheelie was unintentional. I had run out of gas waiting for a left turn arrow about 7-8 cars back with a line of cars behind me. It stalled right as the green arrow came on. I switched to reserve and was cranking to start. I didn't realize I had slowly opened the throttle more and more as it was ...

Re: Bike work start. Carb related I think.

That makes sense now that you describe it that way. Yeah I doubt it would provide a noticeable difference for the effort required. Now that you mention a second bike, I've had a Honda PC800 project bike dormant for almost a decade that my brother in law prodded me into resurrecting last march. There...

Honda Pacific Coast 800

So I've had a Honda Pacific coast 800 project sitting since the early 2010s. With the help of my brother in law we finally got her back on the road. I figured I should have a place to document the process so here we are.... 2012 ish: I started at the front and replaced the shot front fork tubes with...

Re: Bike work start. Carb related I think.

It's been a while since I had it apart, but I think the frame would nix velocity stacks plus standard air box as it would get in the way.

Not sure what the clutch stuff is gonna do for you. I popped a wheelie with my factory clutch.
